Much as I agree, I also think there is something to be said for hearing something wonderful replicated live with great sound. I have to cop to loving being in front of the Eagles on a few occasions and marveling as to how it sounded and how they could pull of their harmonies so well live. I saw them support Hotel California and was floored. I contrast them to CSNY who I also adored, but they just didn't have the same discipline. Crap, I also saw Journey twice - I'm infected!

They were very inconsistent. Once I saw them and it rivaled the best GD show I ever saw. Not long after that they hit the 1 star right on the button. I'm predisposed to accepting the valleys in order to get the peaks...

Regular rote practiced rock shows are a lot like anti depressant drugs, they smooth out the valleys at the expense of the big peaks...a nice middle road of mediocrity.
